Browns not interested in Geno Smith
The Cleveland Browns are not interested in free agent quarterback Geno Smith, according to "the vibe" that Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer is getting.
What It Means:
This counters a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who said the Browns and San Diego Chargers were both interested in Smith. He had a meeting with the New York Giants over the weekend, but as he's still recovering from ACL surgery, don't expect Geno to sign with a team anytime soon.
Over the last two years, Smith has dropped back just 62 times, accruing 0.05 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back -- well below the NFL average of 0.11 in that span. Despite that, his Passing Success Rate (the percent of drop backs that gain positive NEP) is an acceptable 48.39 percent.
