Matt Asiata might return to Vikings
The door is "not closed" on free agent running back Matt Asiata returning to the Minnesota Vikings, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
He's exploring his options while waiting for some of the other top running backs to sign. Asiata is a plodder if there ever was one, but he's a good finisher around the goal-line and is also a capable pass-catcher. As of now, the only running backs on the Vikings' roster are Jerick McKinnon, C.J. Ham and Bishop Sankey.
Among the 42 running backs to top 100 carries last year, Asiata's -0.15 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt was the third-worst.
