Vernon Davis signs three-year deal to stay with Washington
Washington re-signed tight end Vernon Davis to a three-year, $15 million contract.
It's a well-earned raise for Davis, who hauled in 44 passes for 583 yards and 2 touchdowns last season while playing on a one-year, $2.4 million contract. The 33-year-old tight end found a rebirth in Washington, starting in 14 of the 16 games he played. One year prior, the San Francisco 49ers traded Davis to the Denver Broncos at the deadline, where he was relegated to a reserve role during their Super Bowl run.
Davis had the fourth-most Reception Net Expected Points per target last season out of the 26 tight ends to see 55 or more targets.
