Panthers want to limit Cam Newton's carries
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he wants to limit quarterback Cam Newton's carries.
What It Means:
Newton carried the ball only 90 times last season compared to a career-high 132 carries in 2015. Rivera said that Newton will probably push back on limiting his rushing attempts and considering he hasn't thrown for 4000 yards since his rookie season, it could impact his fantasy value going forward.
Newton ranked second in the NFL in rushing attempts by a quarterback, but he only averaged 0.14 Rushing Net Expected Points per carry.
