Lions have not broached contract discussions with Matthew Stafford
The Detroit Lions have yet to open contract negotiations with walk-year quarterback Matthew Stafford, general manager Bob Quinn said.
"I think that is something that eventually we will get to," Quinn said. "These things don’t usually happen in April or May." Quinn is 100 percent correct on the timeline, and it would be more worrisome if the two sides reached training camp without any meaningful progress. Stafford should get a market-setting deal at some point this summer.
Stafford earned the 10th-most Passing Net Expected Points per drop back this year among the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times.
