Cardinals are not interested in Jay Cutler

The Arizona Cardinals have "zero interest" in Chicago Bears impending free agent quarterback Jay Cutler, reports Kent Somers of AZCentral Sports.

What It Means:

Peter King of Monday Morning Quarterback wrote he "wouldn't be shocked" if Cutler wound up with the Cardinals, but Somers doesn't see that as a plausible move. With Carson Palmer coming back for at least one more season, it really wouldn't make much sense when Cutler should have starting opportunities on the open market. The Cardinals do need to identify their quarterback of the future, but Cutler definitely isn't the answer.

Among the 39 quarterbacks to top 100 drop backs last season, Cutler's Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranked fourth-worst.
