Julius Thomas no longer part of Jaguars' trade for Dolphins' Branden Albert

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas will not be going to the Miami Dolphins as part of the trade for offensive tackle Branden Albert, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.

What It Means:

Salguero reports that the Jaguars will now be giving up a conditional late pick in the 2018 NFL Draft as part of the trade. Albert is currently in Jacksonville meeting with the team's decision-makers, and as long as he gives his approval, expect the deal to become official within the next day or so. Despite not being part of the trade, it remains unlikely that Thomas is back in Jacksonville next season.

Thomas has been a bust during his two-year tenure with the Jaguars, recording only 76 catches for 736 yards with nine touchdowns in 21 games. Thomas averaged 0.42 Net Expected Points per target last season, finishing 29th out of the 32 tight ends with at least 50 targets.
