Browns don't plan to franchise tag Terrelle Pryor

The Cleveland Browns don’t plan to franchise tag wide receiver Terrelle Pryor.

What It Means:

This conflicts with a previous report the Browns were leaning toward the tag with Pryor. It sounds there's more optimism for an extension after the Browns met with Pryor’s agent this week. The Browns have until March 1 to make a decision on Pryor. Pryor is targeting $10-11 million annually.

Pryor's 0.68 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) per target ranked 23rd among the 41 wide receivers to see at least 100 targets this year. That's a surprisingly good mark for a receiver who played in the league's seventh-worst passing attack by schedule-adjusted Offensive Passing NEP per play.
