Tony Romo

Cowboys won't release Tony Romo

The Dallas Cowboys will not release quarterback Tony Romo, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports believes.

What It Means:

A recent ESPN report stated the opposite. Per La Canfora, nothing has been decided on Romo's status in Dallas. That will remain the case until Romo sits down with owner Jerry Jones before or during the Combine. La Canfora also stated that "the four teams (Romo) is most interested in are Houston, Kansas City, Denver, and Arizona." On paper, the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos are the best fits.

The question remains how good Romo will be in what will be his age-37 campaign. In 2015, the veteran quarterback tossed -0.04 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back on 127 drop backs, but generated 0.16 Passing NEP per drop back on 684 such plays in 2014.
