Roberto Aguayo needs great training camp to make Buccaneers' roster
Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Roberto Aguayo "needs to have a great camp" to make the team, general manager Jason Licht said.
"We will do everything we can to bring in the best competition at that position," said Licht. "I think [head coach] Dirk [Koetter] even said he’s not locked into this roster." A 2016 second-round reach, Aguayo is on notice after making just 71 percent of his kicks as a rookie. Pewter Report's Scott Reynolds suggests the Bucs could bring in free agent Steven Hauschka to compete with Aguayo.
Aguayo earned -12.71 Net Expected Points on his 31 tries. That was the worst total among the 30 kickers to attempt at least 20 field goals in 2016, and the third-worst among any kicker since 2000.
