Carson Palmer expected to return for Cardinals with Larry Fitzgerald back

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald are "tied at the hip" in terms of their plans to play football in forthcoming seasons, according to "those who know them well."

What It Means:

This comes from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who agrees with beat writer Kent Somers that Fitzgerald's commitment for another season in Arizona is a "good sign" Palmer will also be back in the fold. The 37-year-old veteran has said he would like to play again next year, but concedes that his body may not be up for it. It seems more likely than not that Palmer returns for at least one more campaign.

Palmer let his age show at times this season but finished with 26 touchdown passes and 4,233 passing yards. His 0.11 Passing Net Expected Points per drop back ranked 21st out of the 39 quarterbacks to drop back at least 100 times in 2016.
