Browns lock up Jamie Collins through 2020 with new deal
The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Jamie Collins to a new four-year, $50 million contract through 2020.
Collins just completed the final year of his rookie contract, which was one of the primary reasons the New England Patriots traded him mid-season. The 27-year-old linebacker will be guaranteed $26 million with the new deal, and he is now the fourth highest-paid player at his position on an annual basis behind Von Miller, Justin Houston and Clay Matthews.
After ranking third-worst in opponent-adjusted Defensive Rushing Net Expected Points per play through Week 8 (when Collins arrived), the Browns run defense was 19th in the league through the end of the season.
