Vikings' Adrian Peterson expresses interest in Buccaneers, Texans, Giants
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said he is interested in playing for the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants.
Peterson isn't expected to return to the Vikings next season and he appears to already be looking ahead. The Buccaneers would theoretically make sense if the team moves on from Doug Martin, but they probably don't want to shell out big dollars to another aging, oft-injured running back. Meanwhile, the Texans are committed to Lamar Miller in the backfield, and the Giants' emphasis on the shotgun makes them a poor fit. Peterson will receive interest around the league, but his current wish list seems unlikely to be fulfilled.
There were 88 running backs to notch at least 30 rushing attempts this year. Peterson earned -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt, by far the worst rate among these players.
