Tony Romo

Broncos are ideal offseason trade destination for Cowboys' Tony Romo

The Denver Broncos are Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's "number one [trade] spot," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

With rookie Dak Prescott staking his claim to the starting job in Dallas, the Cowboys will certainly look to shop Romo this offseason. Denver would be his preferred destination though according to Rapoport, the Broncos aren't "inclined" to trade for him. Other potential fits include the Arizona Cardinals, New York Jets and Houston Texans. Rapoport is hearing from league executives that the Cowboys could hold onto Romo until a major injury arises.

It's unclear how good Romo is these days, so it remains to be seen what the Cowboys could get for their former star. In 2015, Romo tossed -0.04 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back on 127 drop backs, but generated 0.16 Passing NEP per drop back on 684 such plays in 2014.
