Jeremy Hill expected to be in backup role for Bengals next season
Cincinnati Bengals running back Jeremy Hill will serve as a "backup" and goal-line specialist next season, believes Paul Dehner of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Hill was ineffective throughout the majority of the season and has averaged 3.7 yards on 445 rushing attempts since his breakout rookie campaign. Dehner believes Giovani Bernard will be the starter and that the Bengals will bring in another back via the draft. The 24-year-old Hill is set to be a free agent next offseason.
Among the 54 running backs with at least 80 carries this season, Hill ranked 20th in Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt.
