Adrian Peterson (knee, groin) won't play for Vikings this week
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (knee, groin) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers.
Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata will split backfield duties for Minnesota. Peterson had six carries on 12 touches in his return last week, and he's likely going to be released this offseason.
Among the 74 running backs this year with at least 35 rushing attempts this season, Peterson's -0.39 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per attempt rank last. The Vikings are last in the league this season in terms of Adjusted Rushing NEP per play.
