Cowboys not planning on resting starters if they clinch
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team does not plan on resting their starters even if they clinch the number-one seed.
The Cowboys will likely have home-field advantage wrapped up by Week 17, but Jones claims it will be "business as usual." Even if Ezekiel Elliott doesn't sit out completely, it would be surprising to see him on a full workload. Alfred Morris is a required handcuff for Elliott owners. Dez Bryant could see a reduced snap share as well.
Among the 32 running backs with at least 100 carries this season, Elliott has the second-most Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) in the league. He is third in terms of Rushing NEP per play. As a team, the Cowboys' offense ranks behind only the Atlanta Falcons in schedule-adjusted NEP per play.
