Tony Romo

Broncos are ideal landing spot for Tony Romo if Cowboys trade him

The Denver Broncos are one of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's preferred landing spots if he is traded this offseason, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

What It Means:

It is not a foregone conclusion Romo is traded this offseason. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports it is "hardly out of the question" Romo sticks with Dallas next season, and the Cowboys would have to eat $19.6 million in dead money if they move Romo. Still, it seems unlikely the Cowboys force Romo to play out the final years of his career on the bench. If he wants another opportunity, Dallas should find a way to give it to him this offseason.

Romo only played four games last season, and he struggled in that limited action. Among the 46 quarterbacks to record at least 100 dropbacks on the year, he ranked 40th in Passing Net Expected Points per dropback.
