Chiefs' Jamaal Charles (knee, injured reserve) needs second surgery
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles needs a second operation on his surgically-repaired right knee, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
According to ESPN's Ed Werder, neither the Chiefs nor Dr. James Andrews have been able to identify the source of what continues to trouble Charles' knee, so the surgery could help determine that. We don't expect Charles to return once he's eligible in eight weeks.
As a team, the Chiefs rank 31st in Adjusted Rushing NEP per play.
