Arian Foster's groin injury requires surgery

Arian Foster's severe groin injury sustained during Texans practice on Monday will require surgery, but he is should be able to return during the regular season. Foster is likely to be placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list to sideline him until Week 10.

What It Means:

Foster has had groin issues throughout his career. Alfred Blue will step into the starting running back spot with Foster injured. Blue averaged 93 rushing yards per game during his three starts for Foster last season.

The Texas ranked 26th in our schedule-adjusted Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) metric last season. Blue ranked in the bottom-five, among all running backs with at least 40 carries, with a -0.12 Rushing NEP per carry. However, place him on your fantasy radar after performing well in three games during Foster's absence last season.
