Bills' Sammy Watkins testing foot later this week

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins will test out his injured foot on Wednesday or Thursday, and that it will determine his Week 4 availability, reports Mike Garofolo of NFL.com.

What It Means:

According to Garofolo, "there are no structural issues" with Watkins' foot, and it remains "an issue of pain tolerance." The receiver attempted to play through the injury on a short week against the New York Jets in Week 2, but wound up disappointing owners in an opportunistic matchup and was then inactive for Week 3. Expect a "DNP" designation for Wednesday's practice. A limited Thursday session would tentatively put Watkins on track to return against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Watkins has recorded 0.53 Reception Net Expected Points per target in the two games he played. That places him 68th among the 93 receivers to see at least 10 targets this season. We currently project Watkins to catch 5-of-9 targets for 68 yards and 0.25 touchdowns against the Patriots in Week 4.
