Matt Asiata draws Vikings' start in Week 3
Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata has been announced as the Week 3 starter at running back.
We still think Jerick McKinnon will lead Minnesota's backfield in touches, but it's indicative of the faith the Vikings have in short-yardage plodder Asiata, at least in pass protection. He'll get the goal-line carries.
Our models project Asiata for 31 rushing yards and 0.29 touchdowns on 8 carries, with 2 receptions for 11 receiving yards. McKinnon is slightly above him, with 11 carries for 45 rushing yards and 0.18 touchdowns, plus 2 receptions for 15 yards.
