Cowboys say fumbles won't impact Ezekiel Elliott's workload
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's workload "will not at all" be affected by his fumbling issues, said owner Jerry Jones.
"He fundamentally carries the ball really sound," Jones said. "He carries it. He carries it up against him. We won't get into all of that detail, but if you asked the question: Is he very sound in the way he holds the football? He is." Elliott put the ball on the ground twice versus the Washington Redskins on Sunday, getting benched after the second. Alfred Morris could see a little more action moving forward, but Elliott remains the workhorse in Dallas.
There have been 33 backs to rush at least 20 times this season and Elliott currently ranks 20th among them in terms of Rushing Net Expected Points per play.
