J.J. Watt (back) could be ready for Texans by Week 1

Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt (back) has a chance to be starting Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, said head coach Bill O'Brien on Monday.

What It Means:

O'Brien's comments coincide with the NFL Network, who reported that Watt would be ready for Week 1 when he first underwent a procedure on his back in July. "I can definitely see (Watt playing in the opener)," O'Brien said. "He's on the right track. He's made a lot of progress the past couple weeks." This doesn't bode well for a Bears offense that has been pretty brutal in the preseason.

Even with our models assuming Watt misses Week 1, we still project him for a whopping 75.55 tackles and 18.54 sacks from Week 2 onward. He is unquestionably the top player in Individual Defensive Player (IDP) fantasy leagues.
