Reggie Bush is Bills' backup running back
Buffalo Bills running back Reggie Bush is expected to open the season as the team's second-string running back, per ESPN reporter Mike Rodak.
This was essentially confirmed in Saturday's preseason game, when Bush operated as Buffalo's clear second back after LeSean McCoy, and Mike Gillislee suffered a concussion after being fourth through the rotation. Bush is expected to be the Bills' punt returner and mix into the passing game behind Shady, though if McCoy were to go down with injury, rookie Jonathan Williams could work in on early downs.
Our models also think Bush will be the second back in Buffalo, with a current projection of 70 rushes for 242 yards and 1.24 touchdowns, as well as 118 yards with 0.70 scores through the air on 21 catches. Whoever the second-string running back is, McCoy is a likely bell cow workhorse in 2016.
