Falcons sign veteran Lance Moore to provide wideout depth
The Atlanta Falcons signed wide receiver Lance Moore on Friday.
With the Detroit Lions last season, the soon-to-be 33-year-old wideout hauled in 29 catches for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns in 14 contests. The Falcons' depth chart at wide receiver is mired in uncertainty behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, so Moore's potential range of outcomes are anywhere from serving as an extra camp body, to carving out a role for himself as the third option. He's a potential threat to Justin Hardy's playing time in the slot.
Among the 102 receivers to see at least 40 targets last season, Moore ranked 82nd with 0.55 Receiving Net Expected Points per target.
