Titans' deal with Andre Johnson contains no guarantees

The Tennessee Titans' deal with wide receiver Andre Johnson contains no guaranteed money.

What It Means:

It means the Titans could cut Johnson at the end of camp without having to pay him a dime. A vested veteran, Johnson's $950,000 salary will become guaranteed if he makes the Week 1 roster, but that's no sure thing, considering he's coming off a season where he looked washed up and is now age 35. In an ideal world for the Titans, physical marvel Dorial Green-Beckham will step up and make Johnson irrelevant.

Our algorithms project Johnson to have 17 receptions for 228 yards and 1.61 touchdowns this season. The veteran averaged just 1.08 yards per route last season with the Colts, while also ranking 44th in Reception Net Expected Points per target among the 61 wide receivers with at least 70 looks.
