Eric Decker wants Jets to use him downfield more in 2016

New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker said he would like to be used more downfield this season.

What It Means:

"It's nice to be able to work on some chunk throws down the field because I think that part of the game is going to have to open up this year for me a little bit," Decker said. The 29-year-old receiver had the second-lowest yard-per-reception of his career last season (12.8) and just nine catches on passes which traveled more than 20 yards. The Denver Broncos utilized him as a deep threat at points earlier in his career, and there's nothing that suggests he can't still be successful further from the line of scrimmage.

Our algorithms still project Decker as a top-25 wide receiver for fantasy purposes this season, with a line of 76 receptions for 1,087 yards and 7.77 touchdowns.
