Jamaal Charles opens Chiefs camp on PUP list
Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (knee) was placed on the active/PUP list.
This isn't too shocking, as head coach Andy Reid suggested last month that Charles may not be cleared for the start of camp. Charles is about nine months removed from an ACL tear and will be turning 30 in December, so the Chiefs are best-suited to ease him back into things. Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware will have plenty of opportunities throughout the preseason, while Charles can be considered day-to-day.
Charles was his typical excellent self in 2015, prior to going down, ranking fourth in Rushing Net Expected Points per attempt among the 58 backs with at least 70 carries.
