Chiefs' Eric Berry won't report for start of training camp
Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry won't report with the rest of the team for the start of training camp, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Berry hasn't yet signed the franchise tag that the Chiefs used on him, so he won't be fined for the holdout, but it's a strange choice, as he can't negotiate a new contract until the season ends.
2015's Comeback Player of the Year, Berry had 55 tackles, 10 passes defended and 2 interceptions as he helped lead a Chiefs defense that ranked fifth in the NFL in schedule-adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
