Texans' Stephen Anderson taking advantage of opportunities

Houston Texans tight end Stephen Anderson has "taken advantage" of his opportunities, tight end coach John Perry said.

What It Means:

"He's come out and really put in a great effort every day," Perry said. "He's picked up things very quickly and, on top of that, he's got great athleticism. He's got good hands." Anderson, an undrafted rookie, also earned praise earlier in the offseason from head coach Bill O'Brien, although he cautioned the "true test will come in training camp." It is early, but with little upside on the roster ahead of him, it looks like Anderson has a great shot to crack the final 53.

Texans tight ends received only 77 targets in 2015, converting them into a paltry 35.03 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP), for a lackluster 0.45 Reception NEP per target mark. Ryan Griffin's 0.73 Reception NEP per target was solid, but there is no receiving depth behind him.
