Eric Decker hopeful Jets solve quarterback situation prior to camp

New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker said he wants the Jets to resolve the Ryan Fitzpatrick issue before training camp.

What It Means:

This appears to be the overwhelming feeling within the Jets organization. "I hope something gets worked out, one way or the other, so we [can avoid having] distractions going into training camp," Decker said. "I think for any team to have success, you have to have some kind of direction. And, with training camp, that’s where you get the timing, that’s where where you kind of build the team and build your identity. And if it’s still in question marks and you don’t know what’s going on, you’re going to create some kind of issues that we don’t need to have." We expect this situation to progress a bit over the next several weeks.

Among the 46 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs this past season, Fitzpatrick finished 13th in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back.
