Lions' Matthew Stafford reiterates that Calvin Johnson is retired for good
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said he thinks former Detroit wideout Calvin Johnson is retired for good.
"He retired because he wanted to," Stafford said. "That’s it." We were not aware there was a question about Johnson's intentions, but this should help put any lingering thoughts to bed. The Lions added Marvin Jones in free agency to help fill the void created by Megatron's retirement.
Among wideout with at least 80 targets, Johnson ended 2015 ranked 26th in Reception Net Expected Points (NEP). The Lions were 16th in Adjusted Offensive NEP per play.
