JaCorey Shepherd may not make Eagles' roster
Philadelphia Eagles second-year cornerback JaCorey Shepherd did not make the Newark Star-Ledger's Eliot Shorr-Parks' latest 53-man roster projection.
What It Means:
Shepherd was merely a sixth-round pick last year, but he was getting reps with the starters last summer as the slot corner before he tore his ACL in August. Shepherd should be ready for the start of camp this summer, but there's a new regime in town. Shepherd was a very productive college corner at Kansas.
The Eagles need all the help they can get on defense as they were 23rd in Adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per play and 29th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play in 2015.
