Browns make Corey Coleman the first wideout off the board

The Cleveland Browns selected Baylor receiver Corey Coleman with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2016 draft, making Coleman the first receiver taken.

What It Means:

Cleveland is nailing the draft so far. The Browns traded back twice -- from No. 2 to No. 8 to No. 15 -- stockpiled high-end picks and still got who many view as the top receiver in the draft while also filling a massive need. Coleman earned the 2015 Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top wideout, finishing his three-year career with a 173 catches for 3,009 yards and 33 scores, averaging 17.4 yards per catch. A freak athlete, Coleman blazed 4.40 40-yard dash at Baylor's Pro Day after posting a 40 1/2-inch vertical and 10-foot-9 broad jump at the Combine. Coleman's drawbacks are his size and 17 drops the past two seasons.

As far as a situation, Cleveland presents Coleman with a great opportunity to see significant volume early on as the team's best wideout, although the offense may not be very good. In redraft leagues, he'll be in the conversation to be the first rookie off the board. As for dynasty formats, Coleman, Josh Doctson and Laquon Treadwell will go in some order from 1.02 to 1.04 (after Ezekiel Elliott) in a majority of rookie drafts.
