Broncos' Jeff Heuerman projected as 2016 starting tight end
Denver Broncos tight end Jeff Heuerman is being counted on "big time," for 2016, Denver coach Gary Kubiak said.
A third-round pick last year, Heuerman lost his entire rookie season to a torn ACL. Now healthy, Denver general manager John Elway said he expects Heuerman to "step in and be a force." It sounds like the Broncos plan on Heuerman being the top tight end this season. Without a clear third pass catcher on the roster, he could have some sleeper value.
At least 100 tight end targets are available this season just from the departures of Owen Daniels and Vernon Davis. Those two were ridiculously inefficient with their targets last year, combining for 0.55 Reception Net Expected Points per target.
