Titans leaning toward taking Laremy Tunsil first overall
The Tennessee Titans may take Mississippi left tackle Laremy Tunsil at No. 1 overall, NFL draft insider Tony Pauline said.
Tennessee would probably prefer to trade down, but Tunsil would be a high-floor, high-upside fallback option. The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Tunsil is considered a rare "dancing bear" athlete for the left tackle spot. In this scenario, current Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan would likely kick to right tackle, upgrading two positions.
With Marcus Mariota showing promise as a rookie, Tennessee's next step is keeping him off the ground, something the Titans struggled with in 2015. The league average was -0.11 Sack Net Expected Points per drop back, but Mariota found himself at -0.18, the worst mark in the league.
