Retaining Danny Trevathan, Malik Jackson a top priority for Denver
Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said re-signing impending free agents Danny Trevathan and Malik Jackson will be a priority.
It's going to be a busy offseason for Denver. The Broncos still need to either franchise tag outside linebacker Von Miller or give him a massive extension. With limited cap space and a likely hole at quarterback, it will be tough for Denver to retain every piece of their historic defense. Jackson, a defensive lineman, will be one of the hottest names available if he reaches the open market.
Both players were a key part of a Denver defense which ended the season ranked first in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play. Trevathan, an inside linebacker, recorded 109 tackles and intercepted two passes in 2015. Jackson had a career-best 46 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
