Giants coach declines to name Eli Manning Week 3 starter
New York Giants coach Pat Shurmur declined to name quarterback Eli Manning his Week 3 starter.
This seemingly leaves the door open for rookie Daniel Jones to make his first professional start. Jones was a much-derided pick but impressed during the preseason. Manning, meanwhile, has struggled badly so far this season, averaging just 6.2 yards per attempt with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The Giants play in Tampa Bay in Week 3.
Manning completed 26 of 45 passes (57.8%) for 250 yards with two interceptions in Week 2 against Buffalo. He scored 22.2 FanDuel points which tied for 22nd among quarterbacks for the week.
