Lions release running back Theo Riddick
The Detroit Lions released running back Theo Riddick on Saturday.
What It Means:
There was speculation this move was coming and it greatly benefits Kerryon Johnson, who now stands to see considerably more volume in the passing game. Riddick had 74 targets last season.
In 84 career games, Riddick has rushed for 1,023 yards and 5 touchdowns on 288 carries, while doing more damage in the passing game. He has caught 285 passes for 2,238 yards and 14 touchdowns.
