Demarcus Robinson could see larger role for Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson will be asked to replace Chris Conley on offense this season, writes Nate Taylor of The Athletic.

What It Means:

Conley, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, only saw a 9.2 percent target share with the Chiefs in 2018, but he played 74.7 percent of the snaps. Robinson, meanwhile, saw less than half as much action. Patrick Mahomes praised Robinson for his ability to get open when plays break down and they've been working on their deep-ball connection. Tyreek Hill's pending off-field situation and Sammy Watkins' inability to stay healthy could create even more opportunity for Robinson.

Robinson is currently just inside the top-100 receivers in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models expect him to catch 26.8 passes on 43.9 targets for 348.9 yards and 1.85 touchdowns, but that doesn't account for a potential Hill suspension or injury to Watkins.
