D.J. Swearinger waived by Washington on Monday
The Washington Redskins waived defensive back D.J. Swearinger.
This comes after Swearinger said he "probably watches more film than the coaches," following Saturday's loss to the Tennessee Titans. The 27-year-old played all but one defensive snap for Washington this season and was selected as a Pro Bowl alternate. He is only owed $176,470 over the rest of the season and will likely draw plenty of interest from playoff-bound teams.
Swearinger led Washington in interceptions (4) and pass deflections (10) over 15 games.
