Jaylen Samuels

Steelers plan on using backfield committee

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said it is the team's "intention" to use a running back by committee approach.

What It Means:

James Conner is out with an ankle injury, so the Steelers will likely utilize fifth-round rookie Jaylen Samuels and 29-year-old Stevan Ridley. Samuels played both tight end and running back in college and caught 195 passes across his final 39 games at NC State. Trey Edmunds, who was just called up from the practice squad, will be the third back.

numberFire's models expect Samuels to lead the way for Pittsburgh, as he is the RB20 in our Week 14 fantasy rankings and projected for 12.1 FanDuel points at a cost of $4,600. Ridley checks in as the RB55.
