Cardinals' confirm David Johnson is now No. 1 running back
Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson is "the lead guy now" with Chris Johnson (fractured tibia) out at least eight weeks, Arizona coach Bruce Arians confirmed Tuesday.
What It Means:
This is a great opportunity for Johnson to prove himself, because he's been incredibly efficient in his limited role this year. His 0.57 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry ranks 14th among the 81 backs with at least 25 carries on the season while his 0.75 Reception NEP per target ranks third among that group.
