Tony Romo

Cowboys intend for Tony Romo to be their quarterback for 4-to-5 more years

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects quarterback Tony Romo to remain the team's starter for four to five more years.

What It Means:

Jones explained, "I think if you look at his playing time, if you look at the years he has actually played, he started late.... More important to anything, from a mental standpoint, and from the things that also mean so much at quarterback, he's at the top of the list." While these statements are true, Romo continues to show signs of physical breakdown as he goes on age 36.

Among the 40 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs in 2015, Romo's -4.80 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) rank 34th. His -0.04 Passing NEP per play ranks 36th among these players.
