Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger did suffer concussion

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did suffer a concussion in Week 12, according to head coach Mike Tomlin.

What It Means:

Roethlisberger claimed during a radio interview he was diagnosed with a "traumatic ocular migraine," so Tomlin's claim sharply contradicts that of his quarterback. Wednesday's practice will provide some clarity as to Roethlisberger's status, but we tentatively expect him to be ready to go against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

On a whopping 55 passing attempts against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12, Roethlisberger amassed 11.48 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP). Among 39 signal callers with at least 100 drop backs, he ranks fourth in Passing NEP per drop back. The matchup against Indianapolis is a good one. The Colts pass defense ranks 23rd in terms of points prevented above expectation.
