Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger (concussion) expected to be cleared

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to be cleared of a concussion, Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports.

What It Means:

Roethlisberger self-reported his symptoms and was placed in the concussion protocol, but it is unclear if he actually suffered a concussion. His symptoms reportedly "subsided quickly," and it is possible he could be cleared through the concussion protocol quickly. At this point, Roethlisberger should be expected to play next week against the Indianapolis Colts.

On a whopping 55 passing attempts against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12, Roethlisberger amassed 11.48 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP). Entering Week 12, among signal callers with at least 100 drop backs, he ranked fourth in Passing NEP per drop back. The matchup against Indianapolis is a good one. The Colts rank 22nd in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play.
