Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger enters concussion protocol

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the Steelers' Week 12 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter and is now in the league's concussion protocol.

What It Means:

This is the latest in a season full of injuries for Roethlisberger. Landry Jones replaced Roethlisberger on Pittsburgh's final drive and was promptly intercepted. Roethlisberger was having a massive game before the injury with 456 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The 456 yards were the most Seattle has ever allowed to an opposing quarterback. Roethlisberger may have suffered the concussion on a hit by Michael Bennett with about seven minutes remaining. His status for Week 13 will be updated throughout the week.

On a whopping 55 passing attempts, Roethlisberger amassed 11.48 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP). Entering Week 12, among signal callers with at least 100 drop backs, he ranked fourth in Passing NEP per drop back.
