Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman (injured reserve) will undergo groin surgery on Thursday, reports ESPN's Vaughn McClure.

What It Means:

Freeman injured both his groin and foot in Week 5. He must sit eight weeks but will be a candidate to return. Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith will split backfield work while Freeman is out.

Freeman averaged 5.8 FanDuel points in his two appearances this season. He had 14 carries for 68 yards and 5 catches for 23 yards on 7 targets.
