Quarterback

Chalk

The main slate has some big-time quarterbacks on the horizon, and those are sure to see some heavy ownership.

Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are pegged for the highest scores, 24.2 FanDuel points, per our projections, and both are bound to see heavy ownership. While Rodgers has been a bit up-and-down in 2018, he faces a Miami Dolphins defense that ranks 25th against the pass, per our metrics. Losers of four of their last six, the 'Fins have been roasted by Deshaun Watson for five touchdown passes and Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions for 457 yards of total offense.

Brady, meanwhile, takes aim on the road against the 26th-ranked Tennessee Titans pass defense. Tennessee is in the bottom-10 in terms of pass completion percentage (66.0%) and getting pressure on the quarterback (20 sacks), so Brady and the Pats, whom we rank as the sixth-best passing offense, should have ample time to feast.

This all ignores Patrick Mahomes, who leads all quarterbacks in FanDuel points-per-game in 2018 (27.9).

Pivot

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons: $8,500 (at Cleveland Browns)

Heading on the road away from the friendly confines of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, taking on numberFire's top-ranked pass defense, seems to make Matt Ryan a strange choice as a tournament pivot, no?

Glancing at Ryan's home-road splits would seem to indicate as much, courtesy of the RotoViz Game Splits App:

Over the past three years, Ryan has definitely been better in Atlanta, but he showed last week he was up to the challenge of a road tilt. The Atlanta Falcons posted 38 points on their way to a road drubbing of the Washington Redskins, and Ryan popped off for 350 passing yards and four scores.

But what's more interesting is this Cleveland defense, which appears to be wearing down in recent weeks:

With Cleveland potentially missing several starters, Ryan could be primed for a monster Week 10. We have him projected for 20.6 FanDuel points, but he bombed the New Orleans Saints for 40.16 points in Week 3, showing there's plenty of upside available.
